My name is Jeremy Rainer and I'm a sound engineer.
I have done extensive live mixing in the NYC area over the past number of years, including at the Outpost in the Burbs in Montclair NJ, and at the Ossining Library for its "Words and Music" concert series. Artists I’ve worked with as part of these concerts include Eric Andersen, Aztec Two Step, David Bromberg, Larry Campbell, Richie Furay, Garland Jeffreys, Joan Osborne, and Willie Nile.
I have also mixed a number of special events including David Amram's Birthday Concerts at The Theater for the New City, and Toshi Seeger’s memorial concert at The Society for Ethical Culture. The latter concert included Judy Collins, Guy Davis, Arlo Guthrie, Fred Hellerman, Pete Seeger, and Peter Yarrow.
In July of 2014, I co-produced a festival in and around NYC called Seeger Fest. It was a five-day festival held to celebrate the life of Pete Seeger, who had passed away the previous January. I was artist liaison and technical manager for the festival, which encompassed designing stage plots for all five venues, formulating soundcheck and run-of-show schedules, and stage managing the five events.
In 2019, I mixed sound on the Family Stage at the Clearwater Festival in Croton Point Park. Here I worked with such folks as David Amram, Tom Chapin, Reggie Harris, Tom Paxton, and Josh White, Jr.
I am currently a staff engineer at WFUV, Fordham University's public radio station, where I regularly produce shows and mix in-studio performances in a variety of genres. I've worked with venerable NY disc jockeys including Pete Fornatale, Vin Scelsa, Dennis Elsas, Bob Sherman, and John Platt.
When I’m not mixing sound or working with musicians, I enjoy seeing live music of all types and genres, especially rock and roll, folk, classical, and opera.
